When people are in a deep sleep, they are in a trance. They are not aware of their own thoughts or actions. They are unaware that anything is happening around them. They are completely unconscious.

This deep sleep that people experience is the same as the sleep that babies experience before birth. After this happens, however, the baby will be awake and dreaming. The baby will dream about things it has seen or heard within its life time before birth, but it will also dream about things it has not seen or heard before.
